Hiya! How are you doing? I'm
Jessica Chen
welcome to my website
June - Aug 2022 || University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC
Assisted in conducting research on lithium compounds with high ion conductivity under Prof. Jianjun Hu, Department of Computer Science and Engineering
• Examined past research on the topic to extract features that could be used to predict ion conductivity
• Used different regression models to train and test the dataset (random forest, linear, logistical) and compared MAPE R2 scores to find a model which yielded the highest accuracy
• Used git and command line (ssh) to develop and publish code collaboratively and utilize remote servers
• Employed Pandas dataframes, Pymatgen material calculations, and Scikit Learn to develop generative design of materials
• Utilized python to create algorithms to calculate relevant material features
June - Aug 2023 || University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC
Assisted in conducting research regarding segmentation and edge detection of bubbles under Prof. Yan Tong, Department of Computer Science and Engineering
• Researched and ran existing segmentation and edge detection models and compared their accuracy and applicability on our images
• Labeled data collected in the lab to be used as training data to optimize the performance of the models
June 2023-Present
• Developed a personal website utilizing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to showcase my portfolio
• Designed and implemented an intuitive UI and responsive layout for optimal user experience across desktop and mobile devices
• Designed graphics (Procreate) and animation to create a cohesive theme
• Maintained and updated the website regularly to ensure the content remained up to date
